I regret moving farther from the city; but I’m saving money. I worked 9 days in a row, but it wasn’t as bad as it played out in my mind beforehand.  I don’t regret going back to school, not for a second, but it takes time away from projects (unless it’s songwriting which I always have time for).  Honestly, most folks get attached to bodies or libations or cigarettes; myself, I am always drawn to a guitar, piano and a pen.  But more often than not, my songs are far from perfect.  I probably won’t write that song that everyone identifies with.  So I hope that by putting them all out there, eventually, someone will find something to like.  I’m not looking for someone to love my music.  My best consolation comes from making videos like the one above.  I’m sure most won’t be seen by thousands, but that’s cool.  Ten years from now, folks might just be browsing, and come across the past; nostalgic, but thankful for moments where friends played music, danced without inhibition, and felt like they could say anything.  As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to be less critical.  But most shows don’t set my soul on fire like they once did.  However, there’s always a great moment regardless.

With all that pretentious drivel aside, I am thankful to have met Alex, a fellow CLLCT friend and musician who performs in the band, Your Yellow Dress.  He’s always been a supportive sweetheart, and an excellent songwriter too.  So the reason for posting this video is more or less to celebrate this upcoming Tuesday.  Granted, I know I have to work on a final project for school, but it can wait til Wednesday.  I will be videotaping my friends Russ (tinyfolk) and Adam (jenny is a boy) at the Ball Hall in Chicago, and I’m excited to return to some archiving, even if I simply cannot do it as much as I used to.  It’s all about archiving moments, even if they’re not always spectacular.  Hopefully, I’m not the only one who’s grateful to experience such moments.
